Oktoberfest VR: The Official Game has been awarded the AUREA Award in the category Immersion / Experience.
The award recognizes projects that push the boundaries of creativity, storytelling, technology, and innovation in immersive media. From more than 400 international submissions, the jury — chaired by Kathleen Cohen — selected Oktoberfest VR as this year’s winner for its outstanding social and immersive design.
In her laudatio, juror Emily Olman highlighted the depth of immersion and attention to detail that make players want to stay — and return — describing the experience as a vibrant, populated world that builds real connection and captures the joy of the very best of social VR.
The award was accepted on site by Oliver Simon, Jan Lachauer, and Thomas Wagner on behalf of the entire team.
We would like to thank the AUREA jury and community, as well as all partners who made this project possible. Above all, this award belongs to the entire Oktoberfest VR and K5 Factory team, whose passion, creativity, and perseverance brought this experience to life.
